Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Plymouth, Inc. is seeking a Pathologist's Assistant to perform gross examination, dissection and submission of specimens for histologic evaluation in the Histology Laboratory.

Under the supervision of a board-certified Anatomic Pathologist, the role includes gross description, specimen submission, gross photography, and involvement in process improvement and training, while following hospital policies and maintaining a clean, safe work area.

Qualifications

• Minimum BA and NAACLS Pathologists' Assistant program completed
• ASCP PA certification required or eligible
• Strong communication with laboratory staff and pathologists
• Ability to perform gross dissection and specimen handling

Responsibilities

• Gross description and dissection of surgical tissues
• Submission and preparation of specimens for histologic testing
• Gross specimen photography
• Process improvement and training of new employees
• Technical review of procedures with AP Manager
• Attendance at relevant meetings
• Maintenance of equipment and work area
• Adherence to hospital and laboratory policies
• Participation in conference organization
