Qualifications

• B.S. Degree in Biology or related science with NAACLS approved Pathologists’ Assistant Training Program or ASCP certification.
• Must be ASCP certified or eligible to certify; certify within one year post-hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and performance of gross examination and dissection of surgical pathology specimens.
• Describe gross anatomic features, dissect specimens, and prepare tissue sections for microscopy (including frozen sections when applicable).
• Ensure proper specimen accessioning and labeling of surgical pathology specimens.
• Obtain pertinent clinical records, case history, lab data, scans and X-rays when indicated.
• Photograph specimens as needed.
