Job summary

UMass Memorial Medical Group in Worcester, MA seeks a Pathologist Assistant to perform gross surgical pathology, dissection, dictation, and tissue processing. The role includes assisting residents, maintaining tumor banks, and conducting post-mortem examinations under supervision.

A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's in Pathologist Assistant and certification are preferred. Salary range for this exempt, full-time role is set with hours spanning 8a-4:30p, with potential signing bonus

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in appropriate field of study.
Master's degree as a Pathologist Assistant is preferred.
Certification as Pathologist Assistant from an program approved by the American Association of Pathologists' Assistants.

Responsibilities

Performs gross surgical pathology functions including dissection, examination and gross dictation of large and small specimens.
Selects and submits tissue sections for microscopic examination and related studies.
Maintains tumor bank specimens.
Assists in training and teaching of residents and fellows in pathology functions.
Performs human post-mortem examinations and related tissue sampling for studies.
