Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Pathology Assistant Program OR B.S. with physiology and anatomy and 3 years pathology experience.
• Pathologist Assistant Certification, or eligible to take and must be certified within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Oversees gross room, frozen section area, and morgue facilities.
• Monitors specimens as they arrive and accession as needed; performs routine gross dissection.
• Assists in preparation and dissection of surgical specimens; ensures accessioning and collects clinical history.
• Assists in postmortem examinations, coordinates special techniques with pathologists, and ensures proper documentation.
• Maintains laboratory supplies inventory and conserves resources.
• Prepares reports of findings and supports administrative maintenance of pathology protocols.
