Job summary

Carle Health’s Lab Pathology team is seeking a Pathologist Assistant to provide anatomic pathology services under the supervision of a Pathologist. Responsibilities include gross dissection, tissue preparation, and contributing to postmortem examinations.

Qualifications

• Certifications: Pathologists' Assistant (PA) within 1 year - ASCP.
• Education: Certificate of Completion: Pathology Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Preparation, gross description, and dissection of human tissue surgical specimens.
• Assisting with frozen section evaluation; performing gross examination, selection of tissue, cryotomy of specimen and subsequent staining for intraoperative evaluation by a Pathologist.
• Preparation and performance of human postmortem examinations.
• Preparation, gross description and dissection of human tissue surgical specimens.
• Assisting with frozen section evaluation; performing gross examination, selection of tissue, cryotomy of specimen and subsequent staining for intraoperative evaluation by a Pathologist.
• Preparation and performance of human postmortem examinations.
