Job summary

The Southern Arizona VA Health Care System (SAVAHCS) in Tucson, AZ seeks a full-time Physician-Pathologist with responsibilities in clinical, administrative, and teaching duties, including pathology residents. The candidate should be board-eligible or certified in anatomical and clinical pathology, with cytopathology experience preferred.

The role includes diagnostic sign-out, clinical consultations, QA participation, and resident teaching in a collaborative VA setting.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required or as per VA policy.
• MD/DO from an approved medical school.
• Full and unrestricted medical license in the U.S.
• Approved residency in anatomical and clinical pathology.
• English proficiency for clinical duties.
• Cytopathology fellowship preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and sign out surgical pathology, cytopathology, and autopsy pathology.
• Provide clinical laboratory consultation and QA participation.
• Teach residents and medical students in pathology.
• Work monday to friday, 8:00am-4:30pm, with on-call responsibilities.
