Job summary

The Southern Arizona VA Health Care System in Tucson, AZ, seeks a full-time Physician (Pathologist) to provide clinical, administrative, and teaching duties, including pathology resident education. The position offers a comprehensive total rewards package through the Veterans Health Administration.

The AP/CP pathologist will handle surgical, cytopathology, and autopsy pathology, participate in multidisciplinary conferences, and contribute to quality assurance.

Qualifications

• Board certification or eligibility in anatomical & clinical pathology.
• Cytopathology expertise is desired but not required.
• MD/DO degree from an LCME/COCA accredited program or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical, anatomical, and teaching services in pathology.
• Interpret surgical, cytopathology, and autopsy specimens.
• Offer laboratory consultation and QA activities as required by accreditation standards.
• Teach pathology residents and students.
• Participate in multidisciplinary conferences (e.g., Tumor Board).
• Support 24-hour on-call coverage as scheduled.
