Job summary

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a Director of PATH Services to lead the Prevention, Advocacy, Therapeutic Support & Harm Reduction program within Student Affairs. You will set PATH’s strategic plan, supervise staff, oversee clinical services, and serve as a campus expert on substance use health and policy.

Qualifications

• Progressively responsible post-master’s experience in substance use prevention, intervention, and recovery.
• Demonstrated supervisory or management experience, including hiring, training, evaluating, and supporting professional staff.
• Demonstrated experience working in or closely with higher education settings at the four-year or graduate level, with understanding of college student development and campus culture.
• Demonstrated experience with collegiate recovery programming and working knowledge of ARHE standards.
• Demonstrated experience managing departmental or program budgets from multiple fund sources, including grants, student fees, and/or state allocations.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for PATH services and evaluation framework.
• Directly supervise four professional staff and manage program budget across multiple fund sources.
• Build and maintain relationships with campus departments, students in recovery, residence life, Greek life, staff, and community partners.
• Serve as the University’s subject matter expert on substance use health, policy, and student welfare.
• Oversee clinical services (SBIRT, brief motivational intervention, counseling, warm-handoff referrals) with compliance and quality assurance.
