Job summary

Crowell & Moring seeks a mid-level associate to join our Intellectual Property practice in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Orange County, San Francisco or Washington, DC. The role targets 2–5 years of patent litigation experience and a strong technical background in CS/CE/EE.

The ideal candidate will draft pleadings, motions and briefs, handle discovery, and participate in depositions, while collaborating with clients across industries. Bar admission or waiver eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of patent litigation experience in federal district courts, drafting pleadings, motions and briefs, managing written discovery, and researching complex issues.
• Hands-on coding experience in modern programming languages is strongly preferred.
• Membership or eligibility for bar admission in the applicable office is required or eligible by waiver.
• Excellent academic credentials with strong organizational, writing and analytical skills.

Job Description

Crowell & Moring is seeking a mid-level associate to joinour Intellectual Property practice in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Orange County, San Francisco or Washington, DC.

Candidates must have 2 to 5 years of patent litigation experience in federal district courts, including drafting pleadings, motions and briefs; managing written discovery; and conducting legal research. Preparing for and participating in depositions and other phases of litigation is preferred.

Candidates must have an undergraduate or advanced degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or a closely related technical field. Hands-on coding experience in modern programming languages is strongly preferred. Candidates should have the technical aptitude to work effectively with complex technologies and collaborate with clients across a broad range of industries.

Candidates must be a member of the state bar for the office to which they are applying or otherwise eligible for admission by waiver. All candidates should have excellent academic credentials as well as highly developed organizational, writing and analytical skills.

Our Firm is committed to fair and equitable compensation practice in accordance to applicable laws. The salary range for this position is $225,000 to $320,000. Additional compensation may include a discretionary bonus. Other benefits include healthcare, vision, dental, retirement, and all-purpose leave. The salary for this position may vary based on market data, an applicant's skills and prior experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other factors.
