Job summary

The Bachrach Group in the United States is seeking a Patent Docketing Specialist to support its intellectual property operations team, offering a hybrid work arrangement and opportunities at multiple U.S. office locations.

Reporting to docketing leadership, this role manages patent deadlines, maintains docket records, and ensures accurate tracking of domestic and international matters. You will work with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to meet filing and prosecution deadlines.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least one year of patent docketing experience or a comparable understanding of patent prosecution procedures.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to balance multiple priorities simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update patent records within the firm's electronic docketing platform.
  • Review and enter information from patent office correspondence, client communications, and foreign associate notifications, ensuring all dates and procedural requirements are accurately recorded.
  • Route and process electronic communications in accordance with established workflow procedures
  • Prepare status updates, deadline reports, and docket summaries for legal professionals and support staff
  • Monitor upcoming patent deadlines and collaborate with attorneys and team members to ensure timely completion of required actions
  • Assist with opening new patent matters and generating related tracking reports
  • Support overall patent prosecution operations through accurate recordkeeping and deadline management

A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a Patent Docketing Specialist to support its intellectual property operations team. Reporting to the docketing leadership group, this individual will play a key role in managing patent deadlines, maintaining docket records, and ensuring the accurate tracking of domestic and international patent matters. The position works closely with attorneys, paralegals, and patent support professionals to help ensure critical filing and prosecution deadlines are met.
