Job summary

RecSkills is seeking a Patent Agent – Intellectual Property (Patent Prosecution) for a full-time onsite role in the US. You will support an IP team by drafting and prosecuting patent applications, performing prior art searches, and collaborating with inventors and engineers to build robust IP portfolios.

The role emphasizes strong technical communication, analytical rigor, and the ability to manage multiple projects across a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Draft and prosecute U.S. and foreign patent applications.
• Conduct searches of literature, patents, and patent applications.
• Analyze inventions and compare with prior art to identify differentiators.
• Evaluate scientific data and provide technical insight.
• Draft responses to USPTO and international office actions.
• Conduct freedom-to-operate and clearance studies.
• Prepare clear explanations of scientific and patent concepts.
• Collaborate with inventors, scientists, engineers, and attorneys.
• Support global IP strategy and portfolio development.
• Participate in team reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Work onsite approximately 60% of the time.
