Job summary

Procopio seeks a Senior IP Assistant or Paralegal to join our California IP team with hybrid in-office/remote work. The role supports patent prosecution, including drafting and filing patent applications, IDS, and office actions, and coordinating PCT and international filings. Three in-office days per week are required.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in U.S. IP prosecution, strong MS Office skills, and familiarity with USPTO systems.

Qualifications

• At least five years of U.S. IP prosecution experience.
• Two or more years of administrative and/or legal support experience.
• Strong computer skills and MS Office proficiency.
• Familiarity with IP docketing systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support U.S. patent prosecution, including preparing and filing patent applications, IDS, and office action responses.
• Prepare and file PCT filings and coordinate international filings with foreign associates.
• Review and report communications from the USPTO, WIPO, and foreign IP offices; participate in quality control of filings.
• Manage deadlines, prepare docket reports, maintain electronic records, and provide coverage for teammates.
• Assist with the billing process and track time spent on billable projects.
