Job summary

The Setai Hotels is seeking a motivated Pastry Cook for Gianni’s at The Villa Casa Casuarina, the former Versace Mansion, in Miami Beach. This entry-level position offers full training in a fast-paced, high-end kitchen and growth into fine-dining plating and chocolate work.

Join the pastry team to produce pastries, desserts, sauces, and more, with weekend/holiday availability and a stable full-time schedule. Previous experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Basic pastry or baking knowledge (school or hands-on experience preferred).
• Ability to follow instructions, learn quickly, and take feedback.
• Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Availability for weekends and holidays.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the daily production of pastries, desserts, sauces, creams, doughs, mousses, glazes, and chocolate elements.
• Follow recipes with accuracy and maintain consistency in preparation and flavor.
• Set up and maintain the pastry station for service.
• Assist with plating desserts during service per Executive Pastry Chef’s standards.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper storage according to food-safety guidelines (HACCP).
• Label, date, and rotate products correctly (FIFO).
• Support production for high-volume events, banquets, and special menus.
• Operate pastry equipment and tools safely (mixers, ovens, dehydrators, etc.).
• Work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
