In this role as a Pastry Cook, you will be responsible for creating, preparing, producing, and baking all pastries, breads, rolls, and desserts for food and beverage outlets in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of pastry/baking experience. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Advanced degree or specialized training is highly desirable. The candidate must possess skills in creating, preparing, and decorating pastries and cakes, with knowledge in knife handling, pastry, and baked goods. Good organizational skills, teamwork, ability to work within confined spaces, and physical ability to stand for 8 hours, bend, stoop, walk, and lift/push/pull up to 40 lbs are required. Follow recipes and replicate tasks with consistent quality. Ability to obtain Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) and California Food Handler Card within 30 days if applicable.

What will I be doing?

  • Create, prepare, produce, and bake all breakfast pastries, breads, rolls, and desserts for restaurants and banquets. Decorate pastries/cakes with creativity and skill.
  • Maintain adequate supply of all prepared products and ensure proper storage and refrigeration.
  • Minimize spoilage and waste by proper ordering and rotation. Develop new products for menus on a rotating basis.
  • Arrange baked products in carts according to outlet needs.
  • Set daily pars to ensure freshness.
  • Assist in the professional development of apprentices and bakers.
