In this role as a Pastry Cook, you will be responsible for creating, preparing, producing, and baking all pastries, breads, rolls, and desserts for food and beverage outlets in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years of pastry/baking experience. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Advanced degree or specialized training is highly desirable. The candidate must possess skills in creating, preparing/producing, and decorating pastries and cakes. Knowledge in knife handling, pastry, and baked goods is essential. The candidate should have good organizational skills, be a team player, and able to work within confined spaces. Must be able to stand for 8 hours with or without reasonable accommodation, and be able to bend, stoop, walk, and lift/push/pull up to 40 lbs. Follow recipes and replicate tasks with consistency. Must obtain Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) and California Food Handler Card within 30 days of hire if applicable.

What will I be doing?

  • Creating, preparing, producing, and baking all breakfast pastries, breads, rolls, and desserts for restaurants and banquets. Decorating pastries and cakes with creativity and skill.
  • Maintaining adequate supplies of all prepared products and ensuring proper storage and refrigeration.
  • Minimizing spoilage and waste by proper ordering, utilization, and rotating products. Developing new products for menus on a rotating basis.
  • Arranging baked products in mobile carts according to outlet or event needs.
  • Setting daily pars to ensure freshness.
  • Assisting in the professional development of apprentices and bakers.

The hourly rate is $27.18, based on experience and location. We consider all qualified applicants, including those with criminal histories, in accordance with applicable laws.
