Job summary

Rosen Hotels & Resorts in Orlando is seeking a Pastry Cook to prepare high-quality pastries, breads, desserts, ice creams, and garnishes for our guest experiences.

You will follow recipes, maintain food safety standards, manage portions, and keep equipment clean. A minimum of one year baking experience in hospitality is required; high attention to detail is essential in a busy environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs consistently and 50 lbs infrequently.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, baking, and producing pastries, breads, rolls, and desserts.
• Decorating baked items and using pastry bags.
• Adjusting mixer timing and speed per recipes.
• Preparing garnishes and maintaining product quality.
• Managing supplies and placing orders as needed.
• Ensuring proper storage and rotation to minimize waste.
• Cleaning and storing baking equipment and work areas.
• Complying with drug-free and nicotine-free policies.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Pastry Cooks' responsibilities include preparing quality pastry items such as breakfast items, desserts, breads, ice creams, sorbets, creams, simple syrups, amenities, displays/centerpieces, and special request items.

Responsibilities:

• Preparing, baking, and producing pastries, breads, rolls, and desserts.
• Using scales. graded containers, measures, and weighs flour or other materials to make batters, doughs, fillings, or whipped cream.
• Decorating baked items such as cream pies using a pastry bag.
• Adjust the timing and speed settings for mixing or blending equipment so that the components are mixed or cooked according to the recipe.
• Preparing garnishes for baked items.
• Keep track of food supply and place orders as required.
• Utilizing adequate quantities and rotating products to keep spoilage/waste to a minimum.
• Cleaning, dismantling, and storing all baking equipment, including ovens, mixers, proofers, floors, freezers, and refrigerators.
• Ensuring an appropriate supply of all prepared products as well as proper storage and refrigeration.
• Comply with the company's drug-free and tobacco/nicotine-free policy.
• All other duties as assigned.

Experience/Qualifications:

• Minimum one year of previous baking experience in a hospitality environment required.
• Excellent attention to detail skills.
• Ability to work well in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to lift- up to 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. infrequently.
• Must be able to legally work in the USA.

Education and Certification(s)/License(s):

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
