Overview

As a Pastry Cook, you will play a crucial role in our pastry shop. You will work independently, preparing baked goods according to our recipes and plating standards to create a memorable experience for our guests. Responsibilities include prepping, cooking, and baking items, supporting the Sous-Chef in improving product quality, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

  • Complete food and station preparation before opening to ensure prompt service.
  • Recognize quality standards in ingredients and products.
  • Bake pastries according to recipes and plating specifications.
  • Set up workstations with ingredients and equipment.
  • Prepare ingredients for baking and cooking.
  • Cook food using various utensils or ovens.
  • Ensure attractive presentation and quality of all baked goods.
  • Maintain a sanitized and orderly kitchen environment.
  • Assist the Sous-Chef in improving pastry quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
  • Culinary/Pastry experience required.
  • Flexibility to work long hours as needed.
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and 20 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to stand throughout the shift.
  • Thorough knowledge of menus and preparation standards.
