Job summary

The Country Club of Birmingham is seeking an experienced Pastry Cook for the PM shift. You will prepare pastries according to club recipes, maintain a clean pastry station, and support events with timely, high-quality baked goods.

Responsibilities include managing stock, adhering to health and safety standards, and working collaboratively with the Pastry Chef and kitchen team to ensure consistent presentation and portion control.

Qualifications

• Previous experience is preferred.
• Able to work a variable schedule including holidays and weekends.
• Works well in a team setting.
• Must be able to stand, walk, and move around the kitchen for long periods.
• Be organized and capable of multi-tasking.
• Able to perform all front office functions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare pastries in accordance with club recipes and standards.
• Set up, maintain and break down pastry prep station.
• Clean equipment and ensure walk-ins are clean and neat.
• Maintain safety, security and personal cleanliness in the work area.
• Notify Pastry Chef in advance of product shortages.
• Prepare and serve items to established portion and presentation standards.
• Store leftovers with proper dating and labeling.

Prepares pastries for special functions2. Makes pastries according to club recipes and standards3. Cleans equipment and ensures that walk-ins are clean and neat4. Sets up, maintains and breaks down pastry prep station5. Identifies products needed and requisitions them.6. Notifies Pasty Chef in advance of product shortages7. Maintains safety and security in work area8. Maintains neat professional appearance and observes personal cleanliness rules at all times9. Adheres to state and local health and safety standards10. Maintains the highest sanitary standards11. Ensures that work station and equipment are clean and sanitary12. Covers, dates and neatly stores re-usable leftover products13. Ensures that food products are used before they spoil14. Assists with other duties as assigned by the Pastry Chef15.
