Job summary

Sur La Table is seeking a Chef Instructor, Pastry to join our in-store team in Santa Rosa. You will be the in-store expert, delivering baking and pastry instruction and driving sales of bakeware and decorating tools through hands-on classes.

The role requires 21+ years of age, pastry expertise, and a culinary background with strong communication and teaching skills. Flexible part-time schedule with weekend availability is expected.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of employment.
• A degree in culinary arts is preferred; however, candidates with extensive culinary experience and demonstrated technical proficiency will be considered in lieu of formal education.
• 1-2 years of kitchen operations experience.
• Valid Food Manager Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Passion for community engagement and providing exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand by delivering memorable, educational pastry experiences.
• Lead pastry classes and drive engagement with hands-on instruction.
• Promote retail items used or featured in class to support sales goals.
• Maintain class quality by following recipes and standards and staying current on products.
