Job summary

AVI Foodsystems is seeking an energetic Pastry Chef for a full-time role at Wellesley College in Wellesley, MA. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 6:00am–4:00pm, with benefits including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and a generous 401(k) match.

You will bake breads, pastries, and desserts, collaborate with the Executive Chef on menus, and ensure high-quality, timely service while maintaining safety and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of baking experience.
• Culinary degree preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Produce a variety of breads, pastries and desserts
• Consult with Executive Chef on quantities and types
• Confirm themes and décors to be followed
• Provide courteous, fast and efficient customer service
• Accommodate guest and client requests
• Maintain a safe and sanitary food prep environment
• Comply with sanitation and legal regulations
• Improve pastry quality through process reviews and new techniques
• Develop and test recipes; write pastry menus
• Purchase ingredients and manage inventory levels
