Job summary

AVI Foodsystems is seeking an energetic Pastry Chef for a full-time position at Wellesley College in Wellesley, MA. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00am to 4:00pm.

Two or more years of baking experience and a culinary degree are preferred. The role involves producing breads, pastries, and desserts, coordinating with the Executive Chef, and maintaining a safe kitchen environment while delivering excellent guest service.

Responsibilities

• Produce a variety of breads, pastries and desserts by reviewing menus and specifications.
• Consult with Executive Chef to determine quantities and types of breads, pastries, and desserts to be served.
• Confirm themes and/or décors to be followed.
• Provide courteous, fast, and efficient customer service.
• Accommodate guest and client requests and special needs.
• Maintain a safe, sanitised kitchen environment following preparation standards and procedures.
• Comply with sanitation and legal regulations.
• Improve pastry quality by analyzing production methods and redesigning processes.
• Develop and test recipes; write and create pastry menus.
• Purchase ingredients, evaluate deliveries, and manage inventory levels.
