Job summary

Rustler Lodge Inc. in Alta, Utah, is seeking a Pastry Chef Assistant for the 2026-2027 ski season. This full-time seasonal position supports the head pastry chef in producing baked goods for the lodge and meals across breakfast, lunch, après ski, and dinner.

You will work early hours, maintain HACCP standards, keep kitchen areas clean, and collaborate with kitchen staff. Onsite housing and ski pass are available, with meals provided as part of a bi-weekly room and board plan.

Qualifications

• Prior kitchen experience is required.
• Ability to follow recipes and HACCP guidelines.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Must obtain Utah food handler permit.

Responsibilities

Pastry Chef Assistant

General role: Support head pastry chef in producing baked goods for lodge.

Employment: Full Time Seasonal December 1st- Mid April

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Show up on time, in uniform ready to work
• Assist the baker in the preparation of made-from-scratch breads, pastries, and desserts served daily at breakfast, lunch, après ski, and dinner according to approved/successful recipes
• Safely and appropriately use baking and measuring tools/equipment/appliances to complete all steps in the baking process
• Ensure the proper HACCP handling and labeling of food
• Maintain organization, cleanliness, and sanitary conditions of kitchen areas
• Assist chefs and kitchen staff as necessary
• Follow both written and verbal directions

Work Schedule

• Exact hours set by lead baker, generally 2:00 am - 11:00 am, or until tasks complete
• Weekend and Holiday work required.
• No vacation as this is a seasonal position.

Accommodations

• This is a live in position. Onsite housing available. bi weekly room and board charge of $125 includes three meals a day.
• Off-site housing is also available in our employees housing at the base of the canyon available for a bi-weekly room and board charge of $100 includes three meals a day
