Job summary

El Camino Baking Company is seeking an experienced Pastry Assistant to join our cafe and bakery team in Cincinnati. The role requires reliability, self-motivation, and a positive attitude, with scheduled shifts Tuesday 8am-4pm, Thursday 10am-6pm, and Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday 12 noon to 8pm.

Full-time employees receive benefits, holiday pay, and time off. Primary responsibilities include following GMP and Food Safety guidelines, maintaining a clean environment, and assisting with pastry

Qualifications

• Previous pastry, baking, or cafe experience required.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude.
• Interest in pastries, food and contributing creative ideas to the menu.

Responsibilities

• Always follow Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety guidelines.
• Maintain an organized, clean and sanitary work environment.
• Accurately and consistently scale and shape dough pieces to product specifications.
• Work efficiently while regulating the speed of bakery machines and aligning with team members to support.
• Effectively communicate with team members to maintain production schedule and team coordination.
• Track wasted ingredients/ dough accuratley.
• Reports and assists as instructed to proactively mitigate all issues and or concerns regarding the quality and or safety of the production environment, equipment, ingredients, doughs, products or team members.
• Assist with retail pastry preparation, presentation and packaging.
• Support daily cafe operations as needed
• Participate in menu development, including seasonal pastry ideas and cafe offerings.

El Camino Baking Company is an artisan cafe and bakery dedicated to high-quality coffee, fresh pastries, and exceptional customer service. We are seeking an experienced, reliable, and self-motivated Pastry Assistant to join our team. Schedule requirements are Tuesday 8am - 4pm, Thursday 10am to 6pm, & Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday 12 noon to 8pm. Days off are Saturday and Monday. Hourly base wage is $20.00/hour. Full-Time Employees also qualify for benefits, holiday pay and time off.
