Job summary

El Rio Grande Latin Market in Dallas, TX is seeking a bakery team member to prepare, produce and decorate pastries, drawing on recipe experience and Hispanic bakery know-how.

Qualifications

• Must have recipe experience and pastry production background.
• High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Bilingual (English and Spanish) highly preferred.
• Team oriented with willingness to take on additional tasks.
• Knowledge of customer service principles and evaluating customer satisfaction.
• Ability to reason through alternatives and identify best solutions.
• Strong interpersonal skills to coach and lead diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, produce, and decorate pastries (recipe experience required).
• Use Bakery equipment such as cake mixers, spatulas, smoothers, airbrushes, etc.
• Safely use and operate different Bakery equipment.
• Perform customer service, clean-up, packaging, and inventory of products.
• Suggest Bakery department products and services to customers.
• Operate equipment and machinery such as baler, forklift, etc. based on operational needs.
• Other duties common to the Bakery department may be assigned by the supervisor as needed.
