Job summary

El Rio Grande Latin Market is seeking a Bakery Department Associate to support customer service, handle transactions, and maintain bakery displays. You will assist customers, ring up sales, weigh and price items, and ensure accurate packaging and inventory in a fast-paced retail bakery environment.

Qualifications include 1 year of experience preferred, a high school diploma or equivalent, and fluency in English and Spanish.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred.
• High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Bilingual English and Spanish required.
• Knowledge of customer service principles and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Take customer orders and provide customer service.
• Operate cash register and tally customer purchases.
• Count money accurately.
• Package, weigh and price bakery items.
• Maintain department appearance and replenish Bakery display.
• Perform cleaning, packaging, and inventory of products.
• Follow weights and measures procedures (tares).
• Suggest Bakery department products to customers.
• Operate equipment and machinery as needed.
• Other duties common to the Bakery department may be assigned.
