Job summary

SBC Executive Committee is seeking a Pastoral Care/Missions Pastor to serve Full Time at First Moss Bluff Church. The role combines two 50% areas: pastoral care and missions, with emphasis on relational presence, care systems, and mobilizing the church for local and global missions.

The candidate will lead the Deacon body, train volunteers, oversee care and visitation teams, and collaborate with staff to integrate care and discipleship across ministries.

Responsibilities

• Weddings and funerals officiating.
• Planning support and family care.
• Pre‑marital counseling.
• Provide direct pastoral care through hospital visits, homebound care, grief ministry, and crisis response.
• Create and manage a rotation system of the pastoral staff for visits.
• Build and lead a care team to provide scalable care.
• Oversee benevolence ministry and coordinate practical help with partners.
• Create and maintain systems for tracking care needs and follow-up.
