Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Parts Specialist to support the parts department and maintain inventory levels to meet customer and branch service needs.

You will purchase parts, process orders, and manage inventory while delivering strong customer service and teamwork to help the branch excel. This role requires heavy equipment knowledge and proficiency with MS Office within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Superior customer service and communication skills are essential.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and using technology to improve performance is expected.

Responsibilities

• Purchase parts from manufacturers and suppliers; obtain parts from other branches to maintain inventory.
• Process external and internal parts orders by completing invoices, updating inventory records, and verifying customer credit.
• Ship parts as needed and update records to reflect stock levels.
• Advise Management on parts activities, trends and department efficiency related to customer relations.
• Maintain current parts manuals, catalogs, literature and price lists for all equipment sold by the company.

As a Parts Specialist - Customer Equipment Solutions (Parts Specialist - CES) at United Rentals, you will be responsible for supporting the parts department, including the maintenance of sufficient inventory levels to meet projected parts needs of customers and the branch's service department.

Additional duties include the following

• Purchase parts from manufacturers and suppliers; acquire parts from other branches as-needed to maintain and replenish inventory
• Process external and internal parts orders by completing invoices, updating inventory records, verifying customer credit and shipping parts as needed
• Advise Management on parts activities, future trends and matters which affect the efficiency of the department regarding customer relations
• Maintain current parts manuals, catalogs, literature and price lists for all equipment sold by the company
• Other duties assigned as needed

Job Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• 2+ years of retail /sales exposure
• Heavy equipment knowledge is preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to use technology tools to increase performance efficiency
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
