Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Parts Specialist to support the parts department and maintain inventory to meet the branch and service department needs. You will process orders, manage invoices, and assist with pricing and catalog updates.

The role emphasizes strong customer service, teamwork, and communication, with opportunities to contribute to cost control and supplier relations while supporting the world’s largest equipment rental provider.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2+ years of retail exposure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to use technology tools to increase performance efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Purchase parts from manufacturers and suppliers; acquire parts from other branches to maintain inventory.
• Process external and internal parts orders by completing invoices, updating inventory records, verifying customer credit and shipping parts as needed.
• Advise Management on parts activities and future trends affecting department efficiency and customer relations.
• Maintain current parts manuals, catalogs, literature and price lists for all equipment sold by the company.
• Other duties assigned as needed.

As a Parts Specialist at United Rentals, you will be responsible for supporting the parts department, including the maintenance of sufficient inventory levels to meet projected parts needs of customers and the branch’s service department.

What you'll do:

• Purchase parts from manufacturers and suppliers; acquire parts from other branches as-needed to maintain and replenish inventory
• Process external and internal parts orders by completing invoices, updating inventory records, verifying customer credit and shipping parts as needed
• Advise Management on parts activities, future trends and matters which affect the efficiency of the department regarding customer relations
• Maintain current parts manuals, catalogs, literature and price lists for all equipment sold by the company
• Other duties assigned as needed

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• 2+ years of retail exposure
• Heavy equipment knowledge is preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to use technology tools to increase performance efficiency
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
