The Parts Specialist will provide all retail and installer customers with a high level of service. This position will also support store management in the accomplishment of assigned tasks.
Essential Job Functions
- Follow and promote all company customer service programs, e.g., Hi-5, Low Price Guarantee, Rock the Call, Related Selling, Rock the Lot, etc.
- Promptly greet retail/walk-in customers in a friendly, courteous manner and assist them in selecting merchandise.
- Assist managers and/or installer service specialists in serving professional customers as needed.
- Complete assigned company training relevant to the position.
- Provide excellent service to customers calling the store by answering all calls according to company policy, accurately looking up parts and quoting prices, recommending related items, and offering the Low-Price Guarantee.
- Maintain and secure the cash drawer, accept payments, make change, and process credit card transactions accurately.
- Process exchanges and returns in accordance with company policies.
- Address and resolve customer complaints amicably.
- Assist with daily tasks such as freight receival, stocking shelves, fronting, facing, and cleaning.
- Perform operational tasks like merchandise returns, stock adjustments, and inventory counts.
- Operate store equipment like brake lathe after training.
- Perform in-store services (where legal), e.g., installing wipers, testing batteries, scanning vehicle codes, etc.
- Drive delivery vehicle as needed, if eligible.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills/Education/Knowledge/Experience/Abilities
- Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences.
- Provide outstanding, friendly, and professional customer service.
- Multitask effectively handling phone and in-store customers simultaneously.
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with automotive parts, cataloging, Weatherly index system, and automotive sales or service.
- ASE certification.
- Fluency in multiple languages, especially Spanish.
