Job summary

Futaba Industrial Texas Corp in San Antonio, TX is seeking an Inventory Clerk to manage a busy maintenance parts inventory, place orders by cost and lead time, and keep stock locations precise. You will label parts, track movements, and ensure accurate records for quick access by the shop floor.

Training occurs on the Day Shift (6:30 AM–3:15 PM) with a permanent schedule of 6:30 PM–3:15 AM. Starting pay is $16–$18 per hour based on experience, with overtime and weekend work as needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This role is responsible for managing parts inventory for the Maintenance Department. Duties include ordering items based on cost and lead time, maintaining accurate stock locations, tracking and shipping parts, obtaining price quotes and lead-time information from vendors, and labeling all parts.

Training will take place on Day Shift from 6:30 AM to 3:15 PM. After training, the permanent schedule will be 6:30 PM to 3:15 AM. Starting pay is $16-$18 per hour based on experience.

Requirements

Duties include but not limited to:

• Prepare and/or review purchase requisitions/orders as required
• Source price quotations and prepare purchase requisitions/orders
• Monitor inventory daily and reconcile physical inventories with records
• Organize parts in the inventory and location and maintain them in an orderly manner
• Verify part numbers and place parts in appropriate containers/shelving
• Monitor inventory levels in order to maintain just-in-time inventory
• Expedite and follow up with suppliers to schedule deliveries, resolve material, value discrepancy, outstanding and overdue delivery of orders, warranty claims and damage, and return of materials
• Maintain inventory with updated prices
• Match packing slip with purchase orders
• Maintain contact with vendors
• Disburse parts to mechanic and other departments as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Ensure tracking of parts coming in or going out of the parts room at all time
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

EDUCATION, SKILLS and/or EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Good organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
• Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Must be able to meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on the phone
• Required work rotation every month and will be required to work weekends and overtime when needed

Work environment is that of an office with moderate noise and/or exposure to dust and fumes. The position requires the majority of time spent on a shop floor with excessive noise. This position requires working independently as well as a part of a group with minimal supervision. This position requires the individual to be subject to cold, hot and humid building conditions. This position requires a stringent work schedule in an extremely fast-paced environment.
This position requires regular and reliable attendance to meet production needs, adherences to all ISO 14001 and TS16949 standards. This position also requires compliance with quality standards at all times.
