Job summary

Cochran Ford Austintown is seeking an experienced Parts Manager for the Austintown Ford/Mercedes parts department. We are experiencing rapid growth and seek quality-minded candidates with a strong work ethic to join our team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or the equivalent.
• 2+ years of parts manager experience preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
• Tech savvy and comfortable with computers.
• Previous experience in an automotive parts department required.
• Great work ethic and ability to work on a team.
• Detail oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Current and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Service Manager to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs.
• Hire, train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of all parts department staff; direct and schedule activities of all parts department team members.
• Monitor Parts Department Team member payroll.
• Handle customer complaints immediately and according to the dealership's guidelines.
• Monitor and adjust inventory to minimize obsolescence.
• Direct outside parts and counter sales efforts.
• Input inventory control information.
• Monitor for compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local taxes and fees.
• Assist in answering dealership phones with customers.
• Ensure purchases are properly accounted for before payment; monitor markup on parts obtained locally.
• Ensure parts are properly tagged to recover full credit from factory; assist in collection of past-due accounts.
• Other duties as assigned by the Parts & Service Director.
