Job summary

Simpson Strong-Tie in Stockton, CA is hiring a Parts Handler for a full-time, non-exempt Union role. The position runs on a swing shift (3:30pm - 12:00am) and requires lifting up to 50 lbs, forklift operation, and adherence to LEAN practices to keep production flowing safely.

You will inspect parts, package finished goods, and move materials with carts, jacks, and scanners while maintaining a clean workspace and meeting quality standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs as required.
• Strong stamina for standing and moving through shifts up to 8–12 hours.
• Basic reading, writing and math in English sufficient for work orders.
• Ability to read blueprints and identify BOM information on orders.
• Experience with measuring tools such as protractors, squares and tapes.
• Awareness of production processes, quality control, and equipment operation.
• Stay focused in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality.
• Good communication and willingness to ask questions when needed.

Responsibilities

• Hang and remove parts from the powder coat line and adjust hooks for flow.
• Package finished products, label, palletize, and keep area clean and organized.
• Perform quality inspections per drawings and specs, report defects to leadership.
• Move materials using carts, pallet jacks, and forklifts; operate scanners and labelers.
• Train others on equipment and processes used in the Parts Handler role.
