Job summary

Simpson Strong-Tie Company Inc. in Stockton, CA is seeking an Assistant Production Supervisor to support the Production Supervisor in leading a manufacturing team.

This full-time, exempt role is based on the shop floor with a 3:30pm–12:15am swing shift and up to 5% travel. You will coach and develop employees, drive continuous improvement, analyze productivity data, and partner with other teams to share best practices.

Qualifications

• 4 years experience supervising in a manufacturing setting.
• Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs, and distribution.
• Active listening and the ability to understand others clearly.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools for reporting.
• Lean manufacturing methods including Kaizen and JIT.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and direct production employees with performance management.
• Troubleshoot and analyze root causes of issues.
• Develop a continuous improvement culture.
• Create growth plans for reports and delegate accountability.
• Monitor workflow and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare reports, spreadsheets and presentations.
• Collaborate with other branches to share best practices.
• Ensure daily tasks are completed efficiently on the shop floor.
