Job summary

Mills Auto Group is seeking an experienced Parts Counter Specialist for our Bowling Green, KY location to support BMW and Mercedes-Benz customers. You will handle parts identification, ordering, and customer service at the counter, with emphasis on accuracy and professional client interaction.

You will work with EPC and DMS tools to locate parts, manage inventory, and support both service and retail customers in a fast-paced luxury brand environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of automotive parts counter experience required.
• Luxury brand/European vehicle experience strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with EPC and DMS systems and general computer navigation.

Responsibilities

• Assist service technicians, wholesale customers, and retail clients at the parts counter.
• Identify, locate, and order OEM parts and accessories using EPC for BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
• Process special orders, track back orders, and update service advisors and customers.
• Receive, unpack, inspect, and stock inventory; conduct regular counts.
• Maintain clean, organized stockrooms and display areas adhering to brand standards.
• Follow safety policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist service technicians, wholesale customers, and retail clients at the parts counter with precision and professionalism.
• Utilize electronic parts catalogs (EPC) to accurately identify, locate, and order OEM parts and accessories for BMW and Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
• Process special orders, track back ordered parts, and communicate timely status updates to service advisors and customers.
• Receive, unpack, inspect, and stock incoming inventory; conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain clean, organized stockrooms and display areas adhering to brand standards.
• Comply with all company safety protocols and local/federal guidelines.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum 2+ years of automotive parts counter experience required (Luxury brand/European vehicle experience is strongly preferred).
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with Electronic Parts Catalogs (EPC), Dealership Management Systems (DMS) (e.g., CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealer track), and general computer navigation.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a client-focused attitude.
• Organization: Strong multi-tasking skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• License: Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish
• Work with parts manager to locate any parts not in stock
• Complete special order part request for the customer
• Communicate with customer on parts status
• Communicate with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Must follow all company safety policies and procedures
• Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations applicable to industry

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience with auto parts sales (preferred)
• Able to work in a fast-paced work environment
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Detail-oriented, professional appearance and strong work ethic
