Job summary

MTM Transit in Austin is hiring a Parts Clerk to manage purchasing, shipping, receiving, and stocking of parts. You will handle warranty orders and coordinate with accounting for daily requests, ensuring accuracy in the master log and addressing variances promptly.

The role requires at least 1 year in a related position, a valid US driver’s license and Texas license, and the ability to pass a DOT physical and background check. We offer competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Possess valid authorization to work in the United States.
• Must possess a continuously valid US driver's license for 3 years.
• Must possess a valid Texas driver's license or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
• No DWI/DUI charges within the past 10 years.
• No more than 1 suspension, moving violation, or citation within the last 3 years - no more than 2 within past 5 years.
• Must pass criminal background investigation.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in related position.

Responsibilities

• Manage all the parts purchasing including shipping, receiving and stocking.
• Handle warranty part ordering/returns.
• Assist with processing purchase orders (PO's) and invoices and coordinate with the corporate accounting department on daily information requests.
• Identify discrepancies in master log and ensure corrections are made in a timely manner; explain variances.
• Assist in implementation and training for maintenance policies and procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned or required.

What will your job look like?

MTM Transit,in partnership with theCap Metro,is looking for Parts Clerk to join our team inSouth Austin. The Parts Clerk is responsible for inventory control, purchasing parts, executing shop administrative tasks and organizing day to day functions. The Parts Clerk will be able to perform duties in a timely manner and advise higher level manager of any potential issues that could affect the overall accountability of the fleet.

What you'll need:

Experience, Education & Certifications:

• High school diploma or G.E.D.equivalent


• Must be 21 years of age or older


• Possess valid authorization to work in the UnitedStates


• Must possess a continuously valid US driver's license for 3 years


• Must possess a valid Texas driver's license or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire


• No DWI/DUI charges within the past 10 years


• No more than 1 suspension, moving violation, or citation within the last 3 years - no more than 2 within past 5 years


• Must be able to pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug/alcoholscreening
