Job Title: Parts Specialist

Job Description

The Parts Specialist ensures that aircraft parts and supplies are properly stored, maintained, and readily available to maintenance personnel to support safe operation and continued airworthiness of the aircraft fleet. This role manages inventory control processes, coordinates the movement of parts between stations, and handles shipping, receiving, and purchasing activities within a heavy maintenance facility.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure parts and supplies are stored, maintained, and issued correctly so that adequate quantities are available to maintenance personnel to support safe aircraft operation and continued airworthiness.
  • Provide requested parts and materials in a timely manner, verifying that each item meets required criteria for continued airworthiness.
  • Work closely with Maintenance Control to coordinate the movement of parts from one repair station to another as needed to support maintenance activities.
  • Assist in the compliance and administration of the Shelf-Life Program for parts and supplies, ensuring items are tracked and used within approved time limits.
  • Assist in the compliance and administration of the Tool and Test Equipment Calibration Program, helping to ensure all tools and equipment remain within calibration requirements.
  • Assist in compliance with FAA requirements related to Suspected Unapproved Parts (SUPS), including identification, handling, and documentation procedures.
  • Process shipping and receiving of parts, including verifying documentation, quantities, and condition of incoming and outgoing materials.
  • Create and process purchase orders and repair orders in the company system to support parts procurement and repair activities.
  • Perform inventory control processes for the heavy maintenance facility, including issuing parts and quantities using assigned codes to ensure accurate billing and reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation of parts-related reports for customers and internal departments as needed, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform picking, stocking, packing, and cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory levels and efficient parts availability.
  • Complete data entry tasks related to inventory transactions, shipping and receiving, and purchasing in the company systems.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by internal leadership and parts supervision to support the overall effectiveness of the parts department.
Essential Skills
  • Experience with inventory control processes, including issuing parts, tracking quantities, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Hands-on experience with parts management or parts inventory in a mechanical or industrial environment.
  • Proficiency in shipping and receiving activities, including verifying documentation, quantities, and condition of parts.
  • Ability to perform picking, stocking, packing, and cycle counts in a parts or warehouse environment.
  • Strong data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy in recording inventory and transaction information.
  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.

Work Environment

This role is based in an aircraft hangar parts department, working indoors most of the time within a heavy maintenance facility. The schedule runs Monday through Friday, typically between 6:30 AM/7:00 AM and 2:30 PM/3:00 PM. The environment involves regular interaction with maintenance personnel, handling of mechanical parts and supplies, and use of company inventory and purchasing systems in a structured industrial setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kinston, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
