Parts AdvisorJob Purpose:Support dealership parts operations by assisting customers, technicians, and dealership personnel with automotive parts selection, ordering, inventory management, and parts-related customer service. The Parts Advisor is responsible for maintaining efficient parts department operations while delivering exceptional customer service and supporting dealership sales and service objectives.Key Responsibilities:Customer Service & Parts SalesAssist walk-in customers, technicians, and dealership personnel with selecting and purchasing automotive parts and accessoriesProvide professional, friendly, and efficient customer service during all customer interactionsAnswer incoming phone calls and assist customers with pricing, availability, orders, and parts-related questionsRecommend companion parts, accessories, service items, and promotional products when appropriateMaintain strong product knowledge regarding parts, accessories, manufacturer updates, and dealership inventorySupport dealership customer satisfaction and retention through timely and accurate customer serviceMaintain professionalism and composure while assisting multiple customers in a fast-paced environmentInventory & Parts OperationsPull, package, stage, and distribute parts orders accurately and efficientlyDetermine availability of parts not currently in stock and assist with emergency or special-order requestsOrder parts from vendors, manufacturers, and suppliers as requiredNotify customers and dealership personnel when ordered parts have arrivedAssist with maintaining accurate inventory records, bin locations, and parts organizationMonitor and maintain “will call,” special order, and backorder filesAssist with shipping, receiving, stocking, and inventory control procedures as neededMaintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, counters, shelves, and parts storage areasAdministrative & Operational ResponsibilitiesUtilize dealership management systems (DMS), inventory software, manufacturer catalogs, and related systems effectivelyAssist Service Technicians and Service Advisors with identifying and obtaining required repair partsSet up orders for shipment, delivery, customer pickup, or internal dealership useParticipate in dealership meetings, training sessions, and manufacturer training programs as requiredFollow dealership policies, procedures, operational standards, and safety requirementsUphold confidentiality regarding customer and dealership informationMaintain professional working relationships with customers, vendors, coworkers, and managementPerform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by managementJob Qualifications:Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredStrong communication and interpersonal skillsStrong organizational and time management skillsStrong attention to detail and accuracyProfessional appearance and positive attitudeAbility to multitask and perform effectively in a fast-paced environmentStrong customer service and problem-solving skillsBasic computer proficiency requiredAbility to learn and utilize dealership management systems (DMS), inventory systems, and manufacturer parts catalogsDependable attendance and punctuality requiredAbility to maintain confidentiality regarding customer and dealership informationAbility to follow dealership policies, procedures, and safety standardsAbility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs requirePreferred QualificationsPrevious automotive parts sales or parts counter experience preferredPrevious automotive dealership experience preferredExperience using dealership management systems (DMS), inventory systems, and manufacturer parts catalogs preferredKnowledge of automotive parts, accessories, and repair terminology preferredExperience working in high-volume dealership or parts department environments preferredExperience with inventory control, stocking, shipping, and receiving procedures preferredBilingual communication skills are a plusValid driver’s license with acceptable driving record preferredPhysical Requirements:Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, squat, reach, and work in various physical positionsAbility to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull automotive parts and related materials up to 50 poundsAbility to occasionally lift and move heavier items with assistance or proper equipmentAbility to work in a fast-paced dealership and warehouse environmentAbility to regularly use hands and fingers for computer, inventory, packaging, and operational functionsAbility to regularly use computers, phones, printers, scanners, and other office equipmentAbility to safely operate dealership vehicles when necessaryAbility to regularly perform repetitive hand, arm, and body movements during inventory and parts-related activitiesThe physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
