Job summary

BMW of Anchorage, part of Lithia & Driveway, is seeking a Parts Advisor to join a customer-focused team. This on-site role involves providing vehicle parts and merchandise, answering inquiries, and coordinating with the Service department to support repairs.

The position offers a commission-based pay structure and a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:30am to 6pm with weekends off. Ideal candidates bring prior parts-advisor experience (preferred), strong customer service, basic automotive knowledge,

Qualifications

• Experience as a parts advisor or in a dealership environment is preferred.
• Strong customer service skills and clear communication.
• Basic automotive component knowledge helpful.
• Proficient with computers and inventory systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide vehicle parts and merchandise to customers.
• Answer phones, greet customers and vendors.
• Keep counter, work area and stockroom clean and organized.
• Coordinate parts with Service to support vehicle repairs.
• Order parts from suppliers based on requests.
• Receive, unpack and store parts for easy access.
• Maintain inventory records and perform routine counts.
• Handle payments or credits as applicable.
• Process core returns and warranties.

What You'll Do

• Provide vehicle parts and merchandise to customers
• Answer telephone and greet customers and vendors.
• Maintain clean appearance of counter, work area, and stockroom.
• Work with the Service Team to coordinate parts for vehicle repair and service.
• Order parts from suppliers based on Service Department and customer requests.
• Receive, unpack, and store parts in appropriate storage areas so they are available when needed.
• Take inventory, maintain records of goods received and keep perpetual inventory controls.
• Receive payment or obtain credit authorization.
• Process core returns, parts warranties and part returns.

What You'll Bring

• Previous parts advisor experience, preferred
• Understand basic automotive components and systems
• Automotive dealership service experience is a plus
• Excellent customer service skills
• Computer literacy
• Ability to build successful relationships with customers
• Acceptable driving record and a valid driver's license in your state of residence.
