Job summary

Fisher Phillips’ Portland, Maine office seeks a Mid-Senior Litigation Associate with 4+ years of defense-side complex litigation and/or employment litigation experience. The ideal candidate will manage sophisticated matters independently and contribute to building an employment law practice.

This partner-track opportunity emphasizes leadership, client service, and potential to grow a book of business with the firm’s support, mentoring juniors, and collaborating with litigation teams.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of defense-side complex litigation and/or employment litigation.
• Ability to manage sophisticated matters independently.
• Maine Bar admission is required.
• Interest in developing an employment law practice and growing a client book.

Responsibilities

• Drafting and responding to pleadings.
• Managing discovery, including e-discovery strategy.
• Drafting and arguing motions, both dispositive and non-dispositive.
• Taking and defending depositions.
• Preparing witnesses and strategies for trials and hearings.
• Leading or contributing to mediations and trials.
• Mentoring junior attorneys and collaborating with litigation teams.
