Description

At ClassLink, we believe learning should be accessible, engaging, and empowering for every student, every educator, everywhere. That’s why we build secure, intuitive tools that empower more than 26 million students and educators worldwide. From simplifying access with single sign-on, to advancing equity with usage analytics, to automating secure rostering, our platform helps schools focus on what matters most: teaching and learning.

We’re not just building tools, we’re building what’s next in education. By removing barriers and enabling data-driven decisions, our solutions help educators lead with confidence and students thrive in and out of the classroom every day.

Our team is driven by purpose and grounded in three core values:

  • Strive to Grow - always learning, improving, and innovating.
  • Deliver Worthwhile Experiences - for our users, our partners, and each other.
  • Contribute with Heart - putting people first in everything we do.

These values shape how we work, innovate, and support the communities we serve. If you’re ready to do work that makes a real difference, and grow alongside a team that values collaboration, support, and continuous improvement. ClassLink is the place for you.

The Partner Solutions Engineer independently owns partner integrations from discovery through implementation and ongoing technical support. This role translates partner requirements into secure, scalable solutions using ClassLink products and industry standards, troubleshoots complex authentication and data exchange issues, and communicates clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The engineer also uses agentic development methods, data analysis, and financial modeling to prototype solutions, automate repeatable work, evaluate integration opportunities, and support sound investment decisions. The Partner Solutions Engineer serves as a trusted technical resource for partners and internal teams while improving the practices that support a growing partner ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own partner integration projects end-to-end, including technical discovery, requirements mapping, solution design, configuration, testing, launch, and post-implementation follow-up.
  • Design and deliver standard SSO and rostering integrations using technologies and standards such as SAML, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, LTI 1.3, OneRoster, and Ed-Fi.
  • Map partner requirements to ClassLink capabilities and recommend practical integration approaches that balance partner needs, technical feasibility, security, and scalability.
  • Troubleshoot authentication, authorization, rostering, API, and data exchange issues independently, using logs, API tools, documentation, and structured testing to identify root causes.
  • Manage technical relationships with partner development and implementation teams, providing trusted guidance on integration best practices and clear next steps.
  • Translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences and manage partner-facing technical communications with professionalism, accuracy, and appropriate urgency.
  • Collaborate with Partner Relationship Managers, Product Support, Connections, Product, and Engineering to resolve technical needs, manage escalations, and share partner feedback.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, implementation guides, troubleshooting resources, and internal knowledge articles.
  • Track integration work, risks, decisions, and deliverables in systems such as Salesforce and Linear, while proactively communicating blockers and timeline changes.
  • Identify recurring integration challenges and recommend improvements to processes, documentation, tooling, APIs, and product capabilities.
  • Use agentic development tools and AI-assisted coding workflows to prototype integrations, build lightweight internal utilities, automate repeatable technical tasks, and accelerate solution delivery while applying appropriate testing, security, privacy, and human-review controls.
  • Analyze partner, product, integration, and operational data using spreadsheets, SQL, visualization tools, or scripting languages to identify trends, measure performance, investigate issues, and inform priorities.
  • Develop financial models and business cases that assess implementation effort, cost to serve, return on investment, revenue potential, and tradeoffs for proposed integrations or partner initiatives.
  • Stay current on ClassLink products, identity and interoperability standards, security practices, and changes in the education technology ecosystem.

NOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Employees may be asked to perform other related duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Four or more years of experience in solutions engineering, technical consulting, systems integration, implementation, or a related technical role.
  • Hands-on experience with web APIs and common data formats, including REST, JSON, and CSV.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development or agentic tools to create, test, or improve scripts, automations, prototypes, or technical workflows.
  • Working knowledge of identity and access management concepts and protocols, including SAML, OAuth 2.0, and OpenID Connect.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across multiple systems and drive them to resolution with minimal oversight.
  • Experience gathering technical requirements and translating them into an implementation plan or solution design.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organization and project ownership skills, with the ability to manage multiple partner integrations and priorities concurrently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data visualization, operational reporting, forecasting, pricing analysis, or return-on-investment modeling.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Linear, or similar CRM and work management platforms.
  • Relevant cloud, identity, security, API, or interoperability certifications.
