Job summary

YMCA of Greater Hartford is seeking a Youth Program Associate for the Wilson-Gray YMCA Youth & Family Center in Hartford, CT. The role is part-time (<20 hours) and involves leading and supporting youth activities in a safe, engaging environment.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• Commitment to YMCA mission and its core values (caring, honesty, respect, responsibility) and development assets.
• Prior experience implementing a variety of youth and adult programs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to effectively problem solve utilizing available resources.

Responsibilities

• Participate in training.
• Assist in implementing age-appropriate developmental curriculum.
• Serve as a resource for clinics.
• Share ideas and concerns with your supervisor.
• Keep open communication with parents and families about youth in the program.
• Contribute to a safe, clean environment by following YMCA safety procedures.
• Transport materials to program sites and manage equipment.
• Ensure programs are delivered with premier quality and innovation.
• Attend branch and Metropolitan meetings as assigned.
• Align with YMCA goals in Youth Development, Healthy Living, Member Experience and Social Responsibility.
• Be actively engaged with the youth in the program.
• Uphold branch and YMCA policies and procedures.
• Have fun while teaching and engaging participants.
• All duties as assigned.
