Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a dedicated program staff member to support the delivery of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility initiatives. The role emphasizes building member relationships, coordinating activities, and ensuring safety standards are met.

You will collaborate with the Program Director, assist in staff onboarding and scheduling, and contribute to program marketing and event planning.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service, program delivery or related experience.
• Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral) with children and adults.
• Desire to work with children and families and the ability to relate to them in a positive, patient, sensitive and non-judgmental manner.
• Ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds.
• Minimum age of 18 years.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention trainings.

Responsibilities

• Actively works within assigned program area, developing member relationships and improving engagement.
• Participates in program events, meetings and trainings.
• Supports Program Director to ensure program areas comply with YMCA standards and track staff certifications.
• Monitors and evaluates program delivery and plans activity schedules.
• Assists with interviewing, onboarding and training new staff and staff scheduling.
