Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking an energetic part-time Program Assistant to support youth development, healthy living and social responsibility initiatives. You will work under supervision, help engage members, and assist in program delivery with emphasis on safety and inclusive service.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service, program delivery or related experience.
• Strong computer skills including experience working with Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral) with children and adults.
• Desire to work with children and families and the ability to relate to them in a positive, patient, sensitive and non-judgmental manner.
• Ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds.
• Minimum age of 18 years.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention trainings.

Responsibilities

• Actively works within assigned program area, developing member relationships and engagement.
• Participates in program related events, meetings and staff trainings.
• Supports the Program Director to ensure program areas comply with safety standards and tracks staff certifications.
• Monitors and evaluates program delivery and plans activity schedules.
• Assists with interviewing, onboarding and training new staff and staff scheduling.
• Executes new program initiatives and supports marketing materials and program records.
