Job summary

The Florida Department of Health in Florida seeks an OPS Education and Training Specialist to coordinate the SWAT program, plan youth meetings, recruit and retain youth volunteers, and develop engaging tobacco-prevention education materials. This is a part-time role (24 hours per week) requiring public speaking and strong communication with both youth and adults.

Applicants should be able to work some weekends and evenings, travel for training, and chaperone youth at state and regional events

Qualifications

Valid Driver’s License is required.
High School Diploma/equivalent is required.
Preferred experience with youth planning and prevention activities (e.g., SWAT).
Preferred public speaking and/or presentations.

Responsibilities

Develop and design engaging PowerPoint presentations and educational materials on tobacco prevention.
Conduct workshops and presentations in schools and community settings.
Collaborate with students to form and support SWAT teams in schools and county.
Organize participation in events and campaigns focused on tobacco prevention.
Evaluate materials and initiatives and adjust as needed.
Serve as liaison between students, schools and community organizations.
