Job summary

FLIPANY is seeking a part-time instructor to lead in-person wellness and nutrition education for youth after school. You will guide hands-on activities, support healthy eating, and model healthy lifestyle habits in class sessions across Palm Beach County sites.

The role requires at least 2 years of youth-facing experience, a background in child development or psychology, and a Florida driver’s license for site travel. Shifts are Mon‑Fri, 1:30–6:00 pm, with potential for expanded responsibilities.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience working with groups of children.
• Background in Child Development/Behavior, Psychology, or related social sciences.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License and access to a vehicle for travel to sites.
• Commitment to health and wellness and role modeling for youth.

Responsibilities

• Arrive prepared with materials, set up and clean up at each site.
• Deliver in-person wellness and nutrition education classes to 15–20 youth.
• Guide hands-on activities like healthy cooking, gardening, and nutrition education.
• Maintain a positive, structured learning environment and address behavior.
• Plan ahead by reviewing curriculum, ordering supplies, and scheduling.
• Document attendance, surveys, and photos in real time using a FLIPANY tablet.
• Maintain mileage reports for program travel and communicate with site staff.
• Support volunteers, interns, or AmeriCorps members in class delivery.
