Job summary

The Youth Development Specialist- Academic Enrichment Specialist is responsible for the safety and supervision of Club members.

Under the direction of the Program Director, the Youth Development Specialist delivers quality programs and high-yield educational activities to Club members, aligning with the organization’s mission, vision, and values to set members up for success and provide an outcome-driven Club experience.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
• Passion for working with youth.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to Club’s changing needs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and cooperative working skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable with new technology.
• If 21 or older, maintains a valid driver’s license and meets eligibility requirements to drive Club vehicles.
• Safety oriented mindset.
• Direct youth programming experience (recommended).
• CPR and First Aid certifications (recommended).

Responsibilities

• Develops, organizes, and facilitates programs and activities utilizing a formal curriculum.
• Directly runs programming and high-yield activities in assigned area.
• Facilitate enrichment programming across STEM, arts, math and other academic domains.
• Plan and coordinate events to showcase youth’s academic achievements.
• Administers outcome measurement tools.
• Delivers programs with enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
• Maintains a safe, clean, and organized program area.
• Supports and mirrors BGCAZ’s mission, values, and culture.
• May include assisting with the food program.
