Job summary

YMCA of Greater Waukesha County is seeking a Part-Time Child Care Assistant in Waukesha, WI. You will follow lesson plans, actively engage youth, and monitor safety throughout the day.

You'll build positive relationships with children, families and staff, maintain records, and ensure safe, clean learning spaces while adhering to regulatory requirements. CPR/First Aid certification is pursued as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must meet Wisconsin child care licensing requirements (one course in ECE or approved cert).
• Must obtain CPR, First Aid, AED and Wisconsin Child Care Registry certification.
• Prior licensed early learning experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow developmentally appropriate lesson plans and engage youth in activities.
• Serve as a role model to staff and students.
• Develop positive relationships with staff, families, and children.
• Maintain participant records and documentation per department rules.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness of learning spaces and classrooms.
• Follow emergency procedures to ensure children's safety.
• Uphold YMCA core values of caring, respect, honesty and responsibility.
• Follow regulations from licensing/regulatory bodies.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings; perform other duties as assigned.
