Job summary

Children's Home Society of South Dakota is seeking a Part-Time Youth Care Provider to support children in the shelter with crisis and non-crisis interventions. This role emphasizes trauma-informed care, equity, and inclusion within a caring team.

You will supervise, assist with daily needs, and participate in program activities while maintaining safety standards. Evening hours support work-life balance, with potential for shifts and growth within the organization.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year of childcare experience preferred; personal or professional.

Responsibilities

• Care of Children: supervise, assist with hygiene, diet, dressing, bathing, and transport as needed.
• Assist with supervised visitations and routine appointments; may assist with medication administration.
• Behavior: complete behavioral/CPS reports and documentation by end of shift; apply behavior management techniques.
• Program/Operations: facilitate structured programs and activities; assist with staff training and events.
• Shelter operations: coordinate shelter programs; assist in keeping shelter clean and orderly; back up crisis calls and intakes.
• Professional development: complete annual training and maintain certifications; attend meetings.
