Job summary

Children's Home Society of South Dakota seeks a Part-Time Youth Care Provider to deliver crisis and non-crisis interventions for children in the shelter and perform related tasks. This role embodies trauma-informed care and a commitment to equity and inclusion in all aspects of work.

Shift schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 11:30am. Starting wage is $20/hour with up to $2/hour shift differential (DOE), plus yearly merit-based raises and opportunities for tuition assistance or student

Qualifications

• Team player with ability to promote a positive work environment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to handle highly sensitive, confidential information while maintaining discretion.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Care of Children: supervise, assist with hygiene and routine care, accompany appointments and transports, may assist with medications.
• Child Behavior: document CPS reports and behavior management using approved techniques.
• Safety, Policies and Procedures: follow safety and infection control policies.
• Program Management: facilitate activities and events, support staff training needs.
• Shelter Activities: coordinate shelter programs and maintain orderly facilities; participate in crisis communications as needed.
• Professional Development: complete annual training and maintain certifications.
