Job summary

Children's Home Society of South Dakota Inc. seeks a Youth Care Provider to deliver crisis and non-crisis intervention services for children in the shelter. You will support daily routines, hygiene, transport, and monitor safety under trauma-informed care.

You will work in a mission-driven team that emphasizes equity, inclusion, and compassionate care, providing structured activities, documentation, and collaboration with staff to promote well-being and positive outcomes for youth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED Required.
• Bachelor's degree in social work, Education, or Human Service Field preferred.
• 1 year of childcare experience required; personal or professional.
• Valid Driver's License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care of Children: Maintain vigilant child supervision. Assist with hygiene, diet, dressing, bathing, and transport as necessary.
• Child Behavior: Complete behavioral, CPS reports and required documentation; apply approved behavior management techniques.
• Safety, Policies and Procedures: Ensure safety standards and infection control policies are followed.
• Program Management: Facilitate structured programs and assist with activities and staff training needs.
• Shelter Activities: Coordinate shelter programs; back up crisis calls and intakes.
• Professional Development: Complete required annual training and maintain certifications.
